Coaching in the 21st century

coaching servicesExecutive coaching in the world of business is a relatively new phenomenon. Introduced in the late 1980s as a means of dealing with talented but abrasive, underperforming executives, executive coaching played a mostly rehabilitative role up until the new millenium.

Since those early days of executive coaching, the focus has shifted significantly and nowadays, it is seen as a potent solution to enabling peak performance in the most critical talent within organisations. More and more, corporate executives are keen to follow the lead of sporting superstars such as Roger Federer and Tiger Woods who broadly espouse the benefits of a quality coaching adviser in achieving and sustaining peak performance.

  3. to foster self and organisational awareness.

Ever thought about a "Team Coach"

Whilst executive coaching is very much accepted practice in the business community, the concept of a team coach is still very much in it's infancy. A "team coach" keeps the business team and it's collective membership (which includes the team leader) accountable for agreed behaviours and outcomes. The coach also observes the team's composition and chemistry with a view to providing any input that can improve performance.

Whilst some team leaders may find the role of a team coach unnecessary, many bosses understand that an additional set of eye's and ears from an experienced and well credentialed external practitioner is a huge asset that enables teams to optimise performance

Here's some feedback from our clients:

Echo Entertainment needed a team coach for our Management Team and I was introduced to Wayne. Wayne worked with our Technology team to assist in building a more aligned leadership group.  His energy, enthusiasm and positive nature rubbed off on the whole team. Wayne is engaging, knowledgable and the team listened and learnt a lot from him”.

Thanks for helping me realise just how good I could be. You helped me work through the self doubt and resistance I was experiencing in relation to the recent promotion I was offered and I'm in a much more liberated emotional and psychological space right now"
- John- manufacturing sector middle manager

You made an incredible difference to my headspace and general attitude to life. I was going down the wrong path and I didn't appreciate the good in myself and others. But that's all changed now, I've got rid of the negative people in my life and am more focussed on the future and my goals than ever before. Put me down as one of your success stories"
- Roger- public service team leader

I've worked with a few executive coaches over the years and I didn't really feel good about the whole coaching thing. But things changed when I was introduced to you...you seemed to understand what made me tick and everything just clicked from there on. I now feel like I'm out of the holding pattern and moving forward at a rate of knots."
- Stephen- finance sector experienced senior executive
